GIGI HADID GETS EMOTIONAL AFTER WINNING CELEBRITY MASTERCHEF WITH THE BURGER OF YOUR DREAMS
Not only is Gigi Hadid a Victoria's Secret model, dating a
former One Direction boyband member and the face of some of the biggest
brands in the world but she's now proved she's a dab hand in the kitchen
too.
The 20-year-old supermodel made her way from
the catwalk to the Celebrity Masterchef kitchen last night, managing to
impress foul-mouthed chef Gordon Ramsay with a special beef burger,
garnished with pickled jalapenos and a spiced crispy onion nest with
delicious chips on the side
Gigi went head-to-head with fellow Victoria's Secret model Devon Windsor
for the coveted title during the celebrity showdown, but she pipped her
rival to the post after dishing up the mouth-watering burger, which she
had spent a year researching.
It's no surprise that Gigi aced the competition, after revealing in
the show that she ate a burger a week when she first moved to New York
in a mission to discover the best one out there.
"I always say eat clean to stay fit, have a burger to stay sane," Gigi told the crowd.
Gigi
became emotional and held back tears on the show as she admitted she
decided to go on the show and compete for the cash prize to raise
awareness of Lyme disease, which her mother Yolanda Foster, sister Bella
and brother Anwar are all battling.
She said: "My mom, sister and brother are all affected by Lyme
disease. Not enough people know what Lyme disease is and the dangers of
being bitten by an insect. For that on its own is amazing but with (the
cash prize of) $25,000, we can help with finding a cure. It can help so
much.
"I'm the only one of my siblings, my mom and my
family that hasn't been affected by Lyme disease. It's been really hard
for me because I'm the only one that doesn't really understand it.
What's been hardest for me is just trying to find a way to be their hope
and kind of be a strength for them even with the disease that I can't
understand fully because I haven't been through it."
