Urban Decay Just Released an Epic New Naked Palette

The Naked palettes are arguably Urban Decay's most prized and popular creations. The collection of nude and brownish shades consistently sell out and have spawned countless spinoffs—from the

to the Naked Smoky Palette. And it's not ending. Yesterday, Urban Decay announced on its Instagram that it will be releasing a new member to the Naked family: the Naked Ultimate Basics Palette.

How is this palette different from the other Naked offerings? It contains 12 new shades, so it's not another reiteration of existing colors. And the whole point of this palette is to offer a range of neutral matte colors that every skin tone can use. One of the biggest things we like about this palette is the idea that none of the shades are "skippy," meaning you'll probably use most of them.

The top six colors include a range of peaches and light browns that will make for a killer daytime smoky eye. We're already obsessed with Blow and Nudie, two light peaches that could double as highlighters. The bottom six colors are darker and more versatile—there's a burnt orange called Extra Bitter that's not bright at all, and Magnet is a light-blue gray matte that we can see everyone wearing this fall. The packaging is a bit different from the other Naked palettes. Instead of arriving in the typical rectangular shape, Urban Decay shook things up and packaged the Naked Basics in a square case. The coolest part is the double-ended brush that comes with it: You can use the looser blending-brush end for overall application and then use the smudger brush for places that need more control and dense color (think the inside corners of your eyes). The Naked Basics palette is available right now for $55.
