Kanye West Is Opening 21 Temporary Pablo Merch Stores This Weekend Across the Planet

Kanye West has some big plans for his Life of Pablo merch this weekend, with 21 pop up shops scheduled to open around the world.

Call it the year of merch—everyone from Justin Bieber to Zayn Malik has thrown their hat into the ring. Drake brought his Summer Sixteen pop-up to New York City just two weeks ago. And with 21 temporary Pablo stores set to open across the globe on August 19, Kanye West is set to take that idea to the world stage.

It’s fair to say that West was among the first to blow up merch in a big way—he opened a pop-up in New York to coincide with the Yeezus tour back in 2013. Located on the Bowery—a short subway ride from the Barclays Center where he performed—the store was filled with T-shirts, beach towels, stickers, and hats featuring macabre skull motifs from artist Wes Lang.

The new shops will be open for three days only, as Vogue reports, each city receiving its own customized shirts with their cities written in Cali Thornhill DeWitt's gothic script that has graced most of West's current collection. The exact locations will be announced via kanyewest.com 24 hours before they open in cities including Singapore, Amsterdam, Cape Town, Toronto, Melbourne, Atlanta and more.

Each city will have its name spelled out on tees and hoodies with Cali Thornhill DeWitt’s gothic script in a myriad of bold shades reminiscent of the collection West showed at Madison Square Garden in February. And while his runway pieces might be out of reach for some—Yeezy shoes in particular have fetched astronomical prices on the resale market—his latest fashion project should give fans across the world the chance at a piece of Pablo.
